This course is a user-friendly training programme for Secondary Education and A Levels Faculty. It proposes a theoretical-practical approach to the different elements that make up the audiovisual narrative, as well as film language. The main objective of the course is that participants acquire sufficient knowledge to develop analytical and critical thinking. It starts in the creative processes of the audiovisual medium and includes the basic tools to introduce audiovisual art into the classroom.


  • This training is aimed at Secondary Education and A Levels teachers.  
  • Each participant needs to bring their mobile phone.



Saturday, 29 September:

  • Real Life vs. Fiction: What story do you tell? How do you think in images? How do you think movie in sounds? Staging, the soul of the movie.
  • Careers in the cinema.
  • The phases in the creation of a project.
  • Fundamentals of scriptwriting.

Sunday, 30 September:

  • Films made by teenagers.
  • Teenagers as experts.
  • Creative freedom and non-censorship of the work of young people.
  • The cinema in classrooms: teaching through films or the audiovisual tool.

  • Jorge Cantos

    Jorge Cantos (Madrid, 1987) joined the ECAM months before becoming a post-adolescent father, a situation that constantly determines the nature and themes of his pieces, which oscillate between fiction and documentary films, and repeatedly flirt with the concepts of identity, paternity and the incomprehensibility of the future. He completed his studies with the fiction short film Take Away (2016), which premiered in the official short film section of the Malaga Film Festival, and won Best Short Film at the at the International Film Festival of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (FICUNAM) and was selected by film festivals such as the San Sebastián International Film Festival (SSIFF), the Tel Aviv Student  Film Festival (TAUFF) and the Sao Paulo Short Film Festival.

    The year that he graduated from film school, his documentary Dôtenh (Doubts), premiered in Alcine (Alcalá de Henares Film Festival), it was recognised by the magazine Caimán Cuadernos de Cine as one of the short films of interest in 2015. Currently, he is putting together documentary projects such as Utopiazaleek bakarrik bizirik iraungo dute (Only Utopians Will Survive) (2017) for the San Sebastian Film Festival; advertising projects such as Madrid en danza (2017), music videos like Ritmo en la sangre (2016), Te quiero igual (2017), Juegos de mesa (2017) and Madrid (2018) for artists such as Novedades Carminha, Julio de la Rosa and Xoel López; and his first encounters with the world of teaching, while seeking funding and developing the pre-production of Ráfagas de vida salvaje, a fiction film focusing on parental overprotectionism, a subject already explored in his documentary Pròt (Pruning) (2016). Since 2017, he has been teaching at the ECAM training secondary education teachers.
